The afternoon sun 昀椀ltered through a tall palm tree as Philo and Lily prepared their tools
beneath the carports. A long bench stretched between them, facing a lush front garden
where philodendrons unfurled in every direction. Thanks to Mama’s houseplant business,
they had easy access to fresh 昀氀owers, and Papa had just brought some extras of white
roses Mama had specially ordered for this morning’s new customer. Mama felt happy and
at ease; she hugged everybody, surrounded by greenery and warm light, and the moment
felt very perfect to them!
