Dustin and Gavin chose a spot in the living
room, ready to begin. Gavin started drawing
his favorite sun昀氀ower, but Dustin added other
昀氀owers to Gavin’s canvas. “Look, Gavin, there
are many pretty 昀氀owers besides sun昀氀owers!”
he said. Gavin’s face tensed—he didn’t want
other 昀氀owers, just sun昀氀owers. He shifted
uncomfortably, glancing at Casey. Casey bit
her lip. “Maybe we should go,” she murmured,
gently taking Gavin’s hand. Without another
word, they quietly left their friends’ house.
